Hello fellow redditors,
I have a vent/plea for advice. I do not even know how to begin. So long story short, I came here to America in 2016 to pursue a masters in mechanical engineering at a good public university. Graduated in 2018 and found a job a okay job in 2019 from where I was laid off in 2019 itself. After over 5 months of unsuccessfully trying to find a full time, I joined as an intern at a company in March 2020 and have been here since.
With the COVID and uncertainty around work visa immigration policies, I have still not yet found a full time. I came really close 4 times and was always passed over citing either less experience or for an internal candidate.
Now I have a huge amount of student loan debts. It’s also my last year to try for a work visa and I will have to go back home with nothing to show for these 5 years in the USA.
I cannot even think straight as to what I have to do now. Any help in tackling this messed up situation will be great. I have recently started to experience self harm thoughts with an alarming frequency as well.
I know this is not the end of me, but I just need some help in figuring out my next moves. Please help me guys.
