Would the job offer as a fashion retail store's Assistant Manager be able to count as something similar to an entry-level internship experience for a fresh college graduate with no prior internship experiences?

Ever since graduating last month I have been applying for jobs near me while also learning to prepare for my graduate school applications.

The first job offer that I succeeded in getting so far is this Assistant Manager position at a well-known higher-end fashion brand targeting younger consumers in their 20s-30s (like PacSun but bigger).

I live in a small town and this is a rare opportunity that has opened up in my area.

All my colleagues have at least 1-2 years of professional internship experiences under their belts from during their sophomore, junior year and their families live in bigger cities, but for me, because I was a transfer student trying to catch up with the degree course requirements, I just could not land any internship offers.

I have a keen interest in fashion and have experience as a sales associate for a designer brand, but I have been told by a colleague that employers look down on these experiences and I should take them out of my resume, which means I have to delete half of my resume.

I still kept applying for internships and in the midst of it noticed this store's opening for the Assistant Manager position and applied thinking I would be rejected. But I got contacted almost within two days for an in person interview. In the blink of an eye I have the job offer right in front of me.

If I take this job offer I would not be stopping here, I definitely want to pursue a Master's degree within the next two to three years in Data Science, Management or Global Development.

However, I need an income so that I can continue to pay for certification programs and additional resources for coding, as well as pay for the software programs that I use for my graphic designs and website.

Some people are saying I shouldn't take this job and keep looking for other internships in bigger cities while others are encouraging me to take this job offer while continuing to apply for 2022 summer internships.

My family lives in a small town a couple hours away from major cities and it's hard for me to relocate for an internship unless the internship covers all of the living expenses, which many do not. Especially for someone like me who has no professional experience in finance or research. Should I still let down my job offer and go after an internship in a bigger city even if it would mean I have to relocate?

What should I do?
