Should I move to a bigger city for more opportunity?

I current live in a smaller town in Georgia, making around 14 an hour at a help desk job. I have 4 IT certifications, and I wonder if I'm qualified for more than just basic IT help desk support? I was looking to move because the city is split to one side that is really ghetto with bad unlivable housing, and the other side is suburbanite overpriced homes that are 40 mins from where the jobs are. I'm looking at moving, but the coronavirus put a halt on that :(.

My question is should I take a chance and apply for jobs elsewhere even though I've only been at my helpdesk job for 2 months? Also, since I'm younger I've debated moving to a bigger city (NYC, Dallas, Chicago, etc), because I feel like the dating and job opportunities are really bad in the suburbs and the only people that live here are either military retirees, or factory managers that have had the same job for the last 30 years, and I can't see myself working at the same place in a boring town forever.

The only thing that worries me about moving to cities especially NYC and Chicago is the high cost of living, the crime, and the HOAs in a condo. Some of the HOAs in a condo mortgage come out to more than a house mortgage, but then again you don't have to do maintenance either. Also, the salaries I think would be a lot higher than 14 an hour lol, and their would be more opportunity I'm hoping, but idk now with all this coronavirus bs.

So, would it be worth it to move to a bigger city considering my situation, even though the cost of living is higher? Also, what cities would be good for jobs in my field Information technology?
