Hey guys, I applied for a position similar to mine and had an interview.
During the interview they asked for my desired salary but I didn't want to say a number first and asked what their range is. We had a bit of back and forth, they asked me what is the market rate for this position, that they have a few more candidates with a lot of experience, etc, then they mentioned 65k
This is lower than my current salary, and lower than market rate, which has a wide range but usually 80-120k, with the latter for more experienced positions.
Two interviews later, I've been invited for a third interview and they've also asked for references.
The number they mentioned is not what I would accept, should I tell them now before the interview I am looking for 25-30% higher so we don't waste everyone's time? Or wait until I actually have an offer in hand.
