So I recently completed an internship and let’s say things didn’t end well. I was living with 2 of my coworkers and basically one of them gave their house key to a friend to live in our apartment without consulting any of us. Apparently, I was the only one who had an issue with this, and my relationship with the 2 of them went downhill.
I still went to work on time, completed all my tasks, and did my work as expected, however, my supervisor could tell that I did not get along with my coworkers/roommates based on our interactions at work. He asked what the issue was and I just told him frankly that we did not have a great living situation due to this additional roommate who was not given permission to live in our apartment.
Anyway, fast forward, I ask my supervisor for a reference (out of necessity per future employer’s instructions), and he says of course. However, I am afraid that he may say something negative about me in the interview about my conflict resolution skills or ability to get along with others (even though, again, this was only an issue because of this specific situation).
Do you think he’d be a reference for me if he had bad things to say?
