Is it normal to train new employees after being in the role for less than 3 months?

I’ve been in my job doing entry level work for 3 years and got bumped into a new role doing clerical/logistical work. Pretty overwhelming at first because it was soo much knowledge too consume I felt like I needed a memory card installed in my brain. Anyways, my supervisor trained me on the basic stuff but I’m not really advanced on the work. My supervisor put his one week in and my manager had to find a replacement quick. Well I had to train the new guy for a week straight and thought about it and shouldn’t my supervisor have trained him. I lack time in experience and they literally put me in charge. It’s been really awkward with my manager all week, he asked all the other employees how my morale was? My coworker also told me the new guy I’m training will be replacing me and I’ll go back to my entry level job according to the manager. How come my manager isn’t telling me this? Should I be looking for a different job now if I feel awkward and weird about this? I worked for them during the covid lockdown and got my pay reduced which I make close to nothing. It seems like my manager is being secretive with what’s going on at work.
