HR Uni post degree or college post graduate program?

Hello! I am looking to do a university post degree/college graduate program, and was wondering which of the two mentioned in the title would be better overall to pursue? I'm in Ontario, Canada.

I have looked around a bit and am aware of the advantage of having the college post graduate due to the work placement experience and also that university certificate would be advantageous for other jobs (HR jobs in hospitals/universities seem to ask for university certificate whereas local firms seem to ask for nothing higher than a college program). The university is very far from my residence and would require 2 hours of commute, offers no work placement, and is a little over twice the amount of the college program. The college is much closer to my residence and offers the work placement, but it may not dispose me to a higher pay grade as a university certificate would.

Frankly, HR isn't my long term goal at the moment (this may or may not change in the future). I was only looking to do a program such as this as a back up so it may qualify me for a well paying job in the event that plan A fails, and that it may give me time to prepare for other endeavours, financially and otherwise in the long term. I admit, at this time, getting a well-paying job is very important to me.

All that being said, could anyone, preferably someone who has done either of the programs or is familiar with the HR field could weigh in on which one from the two would be better to pursue?

Thank you.
