I'm starting to apply for jobs and have connections at a few of the companies I'm looking at but some of the job postings are on the older side and I don't want to wait too long before submitting an application. For employee referrals, especially at large companies, do I have to wait for the referral before I submit my application or can I still get a referral/recommendation after I've already applied? Also, do I apply through the normal channels (company website, linkedin, etc.) or do I send my contact my resume and cover letter to forward?
