I would just like some advice and to see if this is normal as this is my first ever office job after graduating recently.
Ok so I have been working at my first office job for only two weeks. I haven't received proper training if I'm being honest, nor have I received my ID card or an employee handbook.
So the team leader explains a few things over to me and if I'm confused or if I've forgotten how to do something he tells me that I should know it because he has shown me it once with attitude, is this normal? I'm human and I'm trying to learn as much as I can but there's only so much I can remember especially within the first two weeks. I've started to write things down after being given attitude by him. I'm not being trained properly so what do they expect? I don't even have a desk and computer to do work on. My coworkers refuse to share their computer with me so I'm often being sent to a different floor and department on my own to do work - without much assistance. It's so strange because HR was harassing me to start ASAP, emailing me everyday to get things sorted out but they haven't even prepared a desk for me on time?
Next thing is that he is also getting me to be in charge of something really important whilst he's off for a week- my issue is that he expects a lot from me. He isn't this harsh to all of my other long term coworkers who sit around and don't do much all day - in fact they spend most of their time playing games with each other as it's not that busy for this month ATM.
I've only just started this job and I already dread coming in every single day. I literally have a mental break down and hate this shit. I sometimes have to just sit around with nothing, staring at a blank space for 8 hours due to not having my own desk and computer and other departments don't either unless someone's off sick or on holiday - so I can't even browse on the internet if I have free time.
Idk man this is just crazy
