I was just posting to a job on a telco site and before submitting it required me to sign and provide my own unique identifier as proof of signature. I've done a number of applications lately and this is new, usually just type name and date is enough.
It recommended last four of my social and birthdate for the identifier. I said screw that and went with an online GUID generator, which is going to actually be unique.
Is this getting common now?
