I (26 M) went to college and got an Associates in Sound Tech, found out after graduating that particular industry is over saturated and doesn’t have many positions to begin with. Took a dead-end B2B sales position for a year and a half, then switched to working for a major cell phone carrier as a retail sales rep for 3 years- I killed it, top of my district regularly, top 6% of the company last year, made good money. Middle of last year, they switched things significantly and the avg commission dropped by ~70%, management started coming down hard on reps, and quotas skyrocketed. It’s not longer worth it to me to work in retail with all of the sacrifices it entails, but I have no idea where to go from here. I have a solid head on my shoulders, I’m great in sales, I learn skills quickly, I just don’t have a ton of experience or any kind of specialized degree, and don’t have the funds to go back to school (an expensive move for wife’s masters program, her not finding work, and my student loans from a private school all add up to a ton of debt). Anyone have recommendations for a M-F, 65k+ position? Not in love with the stress that comes with sales, but I’m good at it, so I’m open to sales still, just not sure where to go from here.
