Old job to new job advice

So I just accepted an offer for a new job but due to an injury I can't walk for about a week. I received the offer for the new job Friday and now it's Monday and I'm working from home due to my injury. Would it be bad form to email my manager my two weeks or should I wait to do it in person? I'm not looking to burn bridges here I just don't know if I'll be able to even walk in tomorrow (Tuesday).
