Advice? My boss thinks I am lazy

I have this boss who seems to think that I'm taking a nap all day. He constantly sends me messages asking me what I am working on. I get plenty of things done and not everything I do is something he even gets to see. Has anyone ever experienced this? It's like they ignore everything that I've been doing and seem to have this picture in their head that I'm not doing anything.
