I have been working in a team for 7 months, when I started it seemed like a normal functioning team.
After the first month I started to notice the behaviour of 1 colleague was very directive and she does not consult or collaborate with any of the team members when changing things about the way we work.
Now that could just be her way of working of-course but after a few months I noticed that when anyone else had input this is ignored and the person is even ignored for suggesting something. The person is ridiculed behind their backs and she spreads a lot of gossip. Also about people she doesn’t like. My days are filled with her gossiping about other colleagues.
My job is to collaborate with her closely but I am not able to do this since she decides everything without consulting me. I have tried to bring this up but at the moment the environment has become so toxic that I am actually afraid to speak up.
I have talked about it a few times with my manager and have spoken about the environment a lot with her as well.
Today I found out they are moving her to another team, which is a relief for me. She will still be in my department and we still need to work together at times. Now they want me to have a sit down with her tomorrow with our manager and I don’t know what to say. I am very un-confrontational and will most likely be too overwhelmed to speak my mind.
What should I do/say? Please help!
