Following up after a job interview?

I recently had a job interview with a small consulting/engineering firm looking to expand into a new business area I am currently involved in. I went in and interviewed with the manager which seemed to go well. I emailed him after to say thank you and the HR manager who I worked with to set up the interview emailed me on her own saying the hiring manager was very impressed with me and we would be in touch. Anyways, about a week and a half passed and I hadnt heard anything, but no worries, I was going out of the country on vacation for the next two weeks, it was coming up to thanksgiving, and I would follow up upon my return.

Upon returning, I shot the manager an email saying I was still interested. He said thank you for following up, he has been in contact with the prime contractor who this would be under and is optimistic, thinks I would be a great addition to the team, and would be talking to the contractor about me specifically. It has been about 2 weeks since then and I haven't heard back. Should I follow up again or not? Should I do it now or wait until after the holidays?

I don't want to seem like I'm bugging him, but do have an interest in being a part of developing this business relationship.
