What does a retired infantryman do?

Hello everyone. I’m writing on behalf of my fiancé. He retired after 7 years in the Army and two deployments as an infantryman. He has a high school diploma and has worked various jobs from biodiesel plants, to welding, to logging. He’s attentive, mechanically-minded, and hard-working. For the last two years, he had finally settled into hotshot trucking. He bought his truck and did okay for awhile, but the expenses have become overwhelming due to lulls in available loads. Long story short, he is not able to stay in the trucking business, but he needs a job that will continue to pay his large debts. He’s contemplating working as a contracted security specialist in Afghanistan, but I would love to keep him in the US. Are there any jobs out there that he could start somewhat quickly and make a nice sum of money? He doesn’t mind traveling or working relatively dangerous jobs, or working as a contractor of some sort. A company that would train him in a trade would be ideal. We are in southern Oklahoma. Any leads?
