So, I've been with my current job for about six months. I love my coworkers, I love the work/life balance, and the work is interesting enough. The reason I first took this job was because I wanted more work/life balance but within the first month, I already felt like I was bored and not challenged. Most days, I spent looking busy and would finish most of my work in an hour or two. I consistently get praise for my work which sometimes makes me uncomfortable because I know that I really don't do that much.
Long story short, I began looking around for jobs and I just got a job offer that I am really excited about. Yes, it will be more demanding and more challenging but I have a friend who works there and she says work/life balance is still fabulous and encouraged me to accept. But now I feel weird about quitting my current job. We are now working from home 100% until the shelter in place order is lifted and my manager does not regularly communicate with me so I feel weird about video chatting her to let her know I'm quitting. Plus, I do not know how I would transfer my current assignments to another person remotely.
I also feel like it'd be weird to start a new job remotely.
Anyway, any advice on how to go about this? Am I overthinking how weird this situation is?
