Hi all! We’re looking for job recommendations for a successful salesman.
My fiancé has recently found out the Fortune 500 insurance company he works for will be cutting the workforce in half by March 2019. There’s no way to know for sure if his job is safe. Either way, we think it’s a pretty shitty thing for the company to be doing and we’ve pretty much lost all confidence in them. So the job search is beginning after a comfortable 3 years.
The thing is we have no idea where to start. My plan is to go back to school soon, so me finding work isn’t necessarily an issue. He’s very successful and his performance has consistently been in the top 10 of the company. The only real problem we have with finding a new job is figuring out where to start - in all senses of the word. We’re not sure how to search for jobs as keyword: sales brings up pretty much everything. We’re not tied to a certain geographical location as we’re pretty comfortable (and truthfully looking forward to) going anywhere with a decent cost of living and nice(r) weather. (We’re currently in the Midwest and our only hesitation is going further north).
So honestly, any kind of input would be appreciated. Where’s a good place to work where you’re from? Whats your dream job? What’s a company that turned you down 5 years ago and you still think about? What about a lovely town to live in or visit?
Seriously. Any kind of path to follow - even if it leads to a dead end - would be so appreciated.
