Applying to jobs outside of my state

Hi All!

I’m looking for some help/understanding here. My fiancé and I are looking to move from PA to either NC or FL. I have been applying steadily to jobs for the last few months with no replies back. At the bottom of my cover letter, it does have a statement to the effect of I am looking to relocate and have the means to do so ASAP. Am I missing something so should I add something more? Or does is really just look that bad to move several states away? Or am over-analyzing it and possibly not getting any hits for other reasons.
