How to know if you are valued and appreciated at work?

My manager claims they appreciate my work and all, (likely cause I have straight up told them they do not value me before.) but how can I know for real?

He claims he is honest with me, and has said things in the past that do make it seem like he is honest, but I don't know. My pay certainly doesn't make me feel valued, lol.
