My boss offered to move me up to Executive Assistant position after being an administrative Assistant. This involves travel and more projects and responsibilities. He took my hourly pay and made it a yearly salary by multiplying it by 2080 (hours worked in a year), then added $500.
I told him that it makes no sense to take this job, as there isn’t any pay increase. He claims since it’s salary I’ll be able to leave for appointments and not have to clock out. However I may be asked to stay late and work on projects.
Im just baffled. I’d be stupid to take it right? I’m considering asking to work from home a couple days a week to make it worth it. Having the position could help me get another better paying position too. But then again I feel taken advantage of. I did ask if it’s negotiable and he added 1k.
