I interviewed for my dream job today and got nervous when asked about salary…..what to say in thank-you email?

I had a phone interview today with a recruiter from a huge company, after a person I knew from college referred my resume for me.

It’s basically my dream job, and I think the interview went really well until she asked about my salary expectations.

I blanked on the number I had thought of, stuttered for a second and beat around the bush, saying “well, I would first say that I’m really flexible, finding a position I can thrive in is most important to me… but if I had to say a number, I would say anywhere between ______ and ______”. (Large range of numbers)

The recruiter was very kind and said “I’m saying this as a person and not a recruiter, taking my recruiter hat off for a minute, don’t sell yourself short, know what your worth is.”

I’m trying to write a follow up email and I know what basic information to say, but should I thank her for her advice? Should I not mention it at all?
