Turn down a job offer to wait for another job to reply?

I got a job offer, it’s assistant manager position for a start up company. The manager there is a little unorganised but the pay is good.

I also had an interview for a concession shop in a big department store. It’s a sales assistant position. The department store sent me an assessment form to fill out and then they told me it takes up to 10 working days for them to reply.

I am stuck, should I just take the higher paid job? The manager there isn’t half as nice as the manager in the concession store. Also the department store is a big name to have on my CV. Or should I turn the first one down and wait for the second job to get back to me? It’s not a guarantee I will get that job either. I’m so angry that these are the only options I have.
