I got a promotion from Account Executive II to Account Executive III on Monday this week. I’ve been at this company for 5 years and completed my MBA in August this year while working full time. HR did not know I was completing my MBA, so my promotion was solely based on my work and experience. When I received the promotion, I received a 5% salary increase but decided to negotiate for a higher increase instead to include my newly earned education and skills that I have learned and developed with it. I even wrote a long letter highlighting my accomplishments. I haven’t heard back yet but am asking follow ups everyday. They only state that they are escalating it and pending leadership. Can someone explain what goes on behind the scenes? Is there a general process that needs to be followed? How long should I wait?
