TWICE this week HR people from two different companies mistakenly scheduled me for interviews for the wrong position. One mistake was noticed, but one was not. I, an aero/mech engineering grad, just sat through an hour-long software engineer interview and got absolutely wrecked.
I could have just as easily said I wasn't interested in the software engineer position but I am of the mindset that you never know maybe it could be something I was interested.
