Job will let me go because I’m not vaccinated.

Hi all it’s been a rough week. My job is pushing a return to the office and told me if I’m not vaccinated then they will not give me a full time position (I’m currently consulting). I don’t want to push for religious exemption because my manager already knows I’m hesitant on the vax and can see that as a threat that I’m not being honest on my vax status. I don’t know what to do at this point and I don’t know if anyone else is in or has been in this situation can share their thoughts. There is no option to allow me to go fully remote as the companies plan is going to be a hybrid approach (home/remote). Do I take my chances at finding something better or go against my personal choice - and get the vax - for a little more stability. I’m morally conflicted. Any advice or perspective is welcome. I’m 38 no kids, rent, and not sure how long I can survive without a paycheck. But I’m confident and believe in myself enough to try and land something better but despite my confidence, there are 4 forces working against me that I don’t have much insight to…

  1. How the current Job market is in Finance/Tech
  2. If other companies require it - then that limits my opportunities.
  3. The availability of an all remote position is unknown. -what if it’s not a lot of opportunities?
  4. The competition of getting hired has probably increased because more people probably left jobs and are searching.
