Internal promotion thank you note- too late to send?

Okay- I didn’t send a thank you email after my 2 interviews for an internal promotion. Is it too late to send? Last interview was 7 days ago.

Background…

Someone at my company retired so a role opened up. It would be a promotion for me if I got it. I had an interview with the hiring manager first (hiring manager is actually my boss’s boss). I did not send a thank you to the hiring manager just because we work together closely already - she and I have a weekly 1:1 already. It seemed weird.

The second interview was with 3 leaders in the department (one of them I know pretty well, another I had met casually in other meetings, and one I had never interacted with before). Is it too late to send the email a week later?
