Do recrutiers look down on you if you put down a salary range that's way below what they pay for the position?

  • recruiter asked me to provide salary range on application.
  • I have absolutely zero idea what the firm pays for but I have very few hints:
    • there is only 1 salary availble (above 55-60k) and that's from an anonymus glassdoor employee in a different state
    • salary reported as 65% above market wage for position. (they are a firm that prides themselves on paying above market salaries for all employees; hint hint this is a top notch firm with an international reputation that ranked #45 in the world for gross revenue in their respective industry)
      • that person provided a review on glassdoor of the position so i know it's real
  • there is no other info about salary for the position other than that ONE glassdoor anonymous reporting.
    • dont even know how much experience the person who wrote that review has in the position
    • but im thinking of putting 35k -45k bc i need to get tf out of my current hourly $15/hr job at a firm i hate and i love this firm im applying to.
    • Would they look down on me if i put something too low?
