I have been applying to as many jobs as I can. Ideally, I wanted to get a job as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist however no luck. As time goes by I am starting to loose interest in these jobs since it is difficult trying to apply and getting constantly rejected when I know I have most of the qualifications. I am starting to have more interest and joy in my side business even though I am not making much money out of it yet either. I currently have a Masters in Information Technology and have been working as a Part Time Lecturer at a university however I am also not entirely happy with it and want to get out of academia even though I am thinking of doing an MBA in the future. In the meantime, I am wondering what else can I do or what other possible jobs can I apply to? I would do Uber however I don't drive and don't have a license and I think I over qualify for most minimum wage jobs. Ideally I would like a remote job but not sure what sort of positions to apply to.
Apparently, it was a complete lie when people told me that I have a STEM Master's Degree, am a minority American, have the needed skills, and should be able to get a job easily in no time however about two years later and still nothing but a part time teaching job while everyone else that I know including those with a work visa from my masters program all have full time jobs in the tech field except me. I really have constantly tried to apply to as many jobs as possible but still keep getting rejected or I never make it past the first round and the coronavirus pandemic did not help at all since I was close to getting a full time job at a corporation as a Data Scientist however the company temporarily shut down and they canceled my contract. I applied again to the same corporation for a lower title but the new hiring manager rejected me. I keep fixing my resume and I keep improving during my interviews however I am still not able to get anything so I am at the point where I feel like looking for any other job that I can get.
Experience and Skills: Most of my experience has been related to analyzing data and research within academia then teaching. Then in terms of skills: I can write professionally well, visualize data, analyze data, and can program in R and some Python.
