Do all jobs create the atmosphere of exploitation and feeling that they own you?

I know many of us week shitty jobs because we have to but do any of you work jobs at "good" companies where you don't feel like they own you and there's nothing you can do? I've worked a couple jobs in the past all of them sucked one of them was ok but didn't last all others the company made it feel like they owned you. My current job is for a huge corporation and in understand I would be a cool going in but wasn't prepared on how cheap they would be (not much room for pay growth but a ton of work that never ends) and how poorly they are run and how we're basically slaves. Throughout the pandemic lots of talk of cutting back and tightening our belts, they had pay cuts, hiring freeze and layoffs. I delaty with it because what else was I going to do and had wfh in the middle of a bit pandemic so I was like ok I can make due. Now out of the pandemic and for the last year business is booming (who would have thought!) we lost probably a half of people due to turnover, lots of revenue now and they don't hire people, talk lots about being competitive and how much they care about us. Take time off, think of mental health (we get unlimited PTO) yet make sure to work work work. I'm seriously burned put and feel like they own me. I'm basically continuing as it's slowly but surelyworsening my mental and physical health. I try to clock out at 530 but because of the severe poor management, work keeps piling on us and we have to make up for shitty depts by fixing their work.

Yet we still have big company zoom meetings talking about growth and hr "initiatives" (I'm guessing to cover their ass from lawsuits by being inclusive, open minded etc) and how they appreciate us yet we're approaching crunch period. It's been crunch for my Dept since like late 2020.

Guess this long post is asking do all companys make you feel like slaves with no power? Hell we have unlimited PTO and yet we can take as much as we would like and in the end the company wins out when we have to work later hours 40+ to hit another uregent project deadline. Everything they do seems like an ulterior motive with no hey we see you as humans let's help you, wither with pay, more flexibility, less stress etc.
