Disheartened

Finally saw a job posting with my dream company that I was qualified for earlier this week. Gathered all my courage and applied. Despite being super sick, I put in several hours of work into redesigning my resume for what feels like the umpteenth time and writing a tailored cover letter. After submitting I felt so good.

However, I just went back to the resume and cover letter to start reworking for other applications, and realized that I typed my phone number wrong and had a typo in my cover letter. I haven’t had a typo in anything I’ve published for the past decade. I am a grammar aficionado. I can only assume that it’s because my head was so fuzzy from being sick.

I’m just so discouraged and disappointed with myself at this point. This company is super competitive, so the odds of me getting it in the first place were ridiculously slim, but knowing that it’s now basically impossible is just crushing.
