Hey all! My S/O and I went on vacation to the east coast for a wedding this past weekend. I had the 1st and 4th approved off, and we are home now. I work at 0600 on the 5th (13 hours from now), and I really don't feel like going to work. It's not because I'm still in vacation mode, it's actually a few things.
-
At the wedding and day after, my S/O suffered from 2 seizures (she is epileptic). It was due to the drastic change of when she took her medication in the morning and at night.
-
I have had about 7 hours of sleep these past 2 days, due to the stress that came with my hfs seizures, worrying about it happening again, and last night went to bed late because of noisy neighbors and having to get up early to catch our flight. I have also been burnt out with the amount of driving I had to do in the last few days, I had to drive over 600 miles in 4 days in the state we stayed in and the 2.5 hour one way trip to the airport.
-
I took a very small nap and have a pounding headache now, ibprofen hasn't helped much at all. Worried I'd still not sleep with that going on.
-
Our apartment is a mess, like bad. S/O couldn't find some things and by the time we had to leave on 10/1, there was no time to clean. Also we have at least 3 or 4 loads of laundry that needs to get done and my S/O can't carry our baskets up and down 2 flights of stairs due to her disability.
The main thing is that I am worried that I'd get more than a chewing out by my team lead and supervisors, as I already had 4 days off. I have only called in 3 times this entire year and all my Vaca days I've used so far have been for doctors visits for S/O (she cannot drive and her neurologist is in another city 30 minutes away, can only schedule in the mornings for him) and other weddings. I'd be willing to go into work and just be a zombie for 8 hours but am worried about damaging equipment (job is CNC Machinist) and putting others in danger.
