I have an interview for a virtual position. Because it’s virtual, I assumed the interview would be virtual too as it’s an online company. However, the interviewer wants to meet me in a public setting for an in person interview.
With that said, I am worried about COVID. I have underlying lung conditions and I’ve been extremely safe the whole pandemic to not get sick. I would feel much more comfortable doing a virtual interview than in person. I am fearful that I would risk my opportunity by asking them to accommodate me.
What are your thoughts? If you think it’s ok to ask, how would you recommend I phrase it?

Would I ruin my chances if I asked for a virtual interview?
