I have a 1.5 year gap on my CV due to a back injury while moving apartments which required surgery. I had a very disabling disc herniation (partial nerve damage). I'm fully healed now (nerve recovery / function + pain reduction), and not on any treatment or anything.
During interviews, I would always say I took a medical leave, but I found in a lot of cases, people asked for clarification.
So when asked about my resume gap, I now say I had a medical leave of absence due to physical rehab due to back surgery.
Thoughts? People usually don't ask for more info .. but it just bothers me that I could be facing discrimination due to this (even though I took 100% of the time to fully recover).
I really thought people would see perseverance, grit, etc..., instead I am faced with rejection after rejection.
