Any tips on bagging items at the cash register?

I get a lot of weird looks when I'm bagging things so I'm pretty sure that I'm doing stuff wrong.. I don't know what to do when they buy a lot of glass items/wine. It feels like a waste to give them a bag with one item in it such as meats and eggs. I mostly need tips on anything, especially organization and fragile stuff
