So, on Friday I got invited for a job interview on this coming Wednesday. For the interview they want me to prepare a 15-20 minute presentation, with this requiring specialist knowledge which I don't have, and which was not mentioned in the person specification. Is it fair for me to think that it seems a bit weird to ask someone to prepare a presentation on a topic they don't know about (and seem unlikely to know about unless they already work in this specific organisation) with such short notice? To me it reeks of them having an internal candidate they want to employ and having to follow an open hiring process, but that might just be me getting paranoid. I at least have time this weekend to put something together, but if, say, a candidate had childcare responsibilities I don't see how it would be possible for them.
