Currently in the process of transitioning from business development to design. I'm still in the process of interviewing for in-house positions, but recently got an offer for a hybrid PM + designer role at an agency. Compensation is great, benefits are health + PTO. The company is growing pretty fast, with a director or two from FAANG. Interview process was mostly behavioral, without a portfolio review. I had a design challenge that I sent in, but was never asked to present it. The majority of the email correspondence took place between 8PM-11PM, including setting times to interview (interviews were in the afternoon).
They've given me 1 week to consider the decision, but I am still in the interview process with other companies. The reasoning behind the 1 week is pretty much "we only want you if you're very excited to join us." I'm unfamiliar with how agencies operate, so wasn't sure if these were red flags? There aren't too many Glassdoor reviews, but they do seem pretty good and high. I'm also nervous about potentially losing an offer/door into the design industry if I don't take this one, but I also want to be aware of any red flags.
What do you all think? Is one week a standard offer time frame for a smaller company? Out of college, I'd previously been given 1 month to decide. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this! Thanks!
