I finished a final panel interview two weeks ago with the company that I'm gunning for and have received an offer from my back up since then. All I've heard from the first company is the Manager making the decision sending me an email a week ago stating she's finished interviews and will be reaching out shortly with news.
My question, is it too much to email them and ask for an update and inform them I have an existing offer? I have to accept/reject the existing offer by EOB tomorrow (not that I'm afraid of rescinding if the first company eventually offers me a position).
Also have a final panel presentation/interview with an electric car company that uses gigafactories that I need to prep for and not worry about this crap.
Any advice would be appreciated.
