A couple months ago my employer put us on notice that we would be returning to the office on a hybrid basis starting in July, likely to turn in to full time by next year.
Productivity and sales have been way up for years 19-21 and the owner even managed the purchase of a couple luxury sports cars during this time. The kicker is he also moved 250 miles away from our office during the pandemic. He now plans to “make it in when he can”.
I managed to buy myself a few additional weeks at home and began my job search.
Today, I was presented a formal offer, full time wfh, full benefits, and almost $15k more on my base than before.
Labor drives the American economy. The power is in our hands. Presence does not equal productivity!
Tldr: got a full time wfh offer with salary increase from another employer after owners asked us to come back after 16 months wfh. Oh yeah, owner moved 250 miles away during the pandemic lol.
