My company just posted a job opening for my role!?

I’ve been at my company for 6 months and have heard amazingly positive feedback. To give context, in our department, there are 3 people (including me) with the same title.

Today, to my horror, I just saw a job opening for this exact role posted on the company site + LinkedIn, etc.

I think the reason I’ve been extra paranoid is because recently I’ve actually begun applying passively to other jobs for a higher salary and have updated my website portfolio. But I’ve been trying to be as discreet as possible.

Could this mean they’re planning to fire me or someone and looking for a replacement? Would it be out of line for me to ask transparently to my team/boss/coworker what’s going on? Would it be better to just stay quiet?
