I honestly do not know where else to turn at this point. I’ve been jobless for a year after graduating from a great University. I’ve been told by connections that my resume is strong, with over 5 internships in the industry I am searching for a job in. The format is also strong, as I worked for many months on it.
The industry I have been searching for a job in is extremely competitive. I am able to get interviews at great companies through connections, but I am never able to land the job. I reach out to former employees on Linkedin for interview advice. I follow up properly and get a proper response on that. I have even interviewed at multiple places where senior level employees have recommended me to the hiring manager. No matter how many connections or relevant experience I have with a company that I am interviewing with, I am not able to land the job. I thought it could be my interviewing that was going poorly, but a hiring manager will never admit that the interview went poorly - and I have had many hiring managers tell me that our interview went well. It just makes no sense. Can somebody offer any sort of advice on where I am going wrong? I am presenting an extremely strong application with these companies including a strong resume and recs, I have no idea where it is going wrong. I am out of answers. It makes no sense to me.
