I’m so damn stupid that I’m about to cry. I put the wrong dates of graduation on my resume. And now they want to have a talk with me tomorrow. What do I do?
So I was working with a resume writer and made multiple copies of my resume. I was testing it out and typed graduated from University from September 2016 to December 2020. I didn’t even give it a single thought again and just mindlessly submitted it to an employer - flash forward, I’ve had 3 interviews with them, and they offered the job to me - they asked for 2 references and college transcripts - I submitted them. Then I get an email from the employer saying they have questions about my transcript?
That’s when I realized I sent the resume with the “September 2016 to December 2020” graduation - when actually, I only attended from “September 2018 to December 2020” :(
I spent the previous 2 1/2 years in community college from September 2015 to August 2018. I just didn’t add that because I didn’t realize community college would be important. But I accidentally added September 2016. Never during the interview did I say I started attending in September 2016. Dammit!
Of course if they reject me, I’ll take it as a learning lesson. I’ve learned a lot more now of what is required and what I should watch out for. :(
