Basically over the course of the pandemic my company has continually decreased in size as employees left due to frustration with bad management/finding and moving on to new and better opportunities. I have been in a situation for almost a year now where people have left and I have absorbed their responsibilities and have not received any concrete indication that the company plans to rehire to fill head count in order to relieve the pressure. As a result, my work life balance is horrible (12+ hour days and working on the weekend) and it’s really starting to impact my mental health. I’m currently interviewing like crazy in order to secure another offer, but I am really debating not giving the two weeks notice because I know it won’t be received well and I just don’t want to work at this company for a second longer than I have to. It’s so bad I am considering quitting without an offer because it is so painful to continue in this position. This is one of my first jobs out of college so I’m just curious how much the two weeks notice really matters and if anyone could provide some advice because I really need help and am not sure what to do.
