I had an interview for an internship yesterday. The guy was conducting interviews on the 22nd and the 29th.
I stupidly told him that I was interviewing at other places (he asked me) at the conclusion of the interview. His tone suddenly changed and he said "well, we really want someone who will accept our offer and be comitted to us". I immediately backtracked and said I enjoyed speaking with him the most and I would accept their offer.
The guy told me that he would give me an answer at 10:00 am the next day. He then made a weird comment, saying he was going to his bosses house to disuss the applicants before they made a decision. He quickly added that he was no longer doing interviews on the 29th. All of these added comments seemed like MAJOR red flags.
I immediately sent a personal / targeted email after the interview showing clear interest in the position & a desire to accept their offer. I think this may have changed their mind (hopefully. idk) because the interview went really well & we were discussing my availability and tasks I would complete on the job right before I made my stupid comment about having other interviews.
I received no email, phone call, or contact from the interviewer today.....idk if this is a good sign or not lol. But I was pretty convinced I was going to get rejected today. So I guess hearing nothing is better than rejection
