Looks like my company will be closing the location I work at, should I apply for an open position with the same company at a different location?

So I was hired temporarily back in July and ended up transitioning into a full time position (well two part time positions with full time hours and benefits) in November and enjoy working here. However, by all metrics our location here in Boston is going to shit. We're on 3 floors, and I was aware of my company trying to get rid of the top 2 floors, but my co-worker informed me that people were looking at the final floor while most of the other staff were in meetings. I'm hopeless as applying for jobs so I'm nervous about looking for work, but I see there's a temporary position open in Montreal for my exact job.

I'm eligible to work in Canada on a Working Holiday Visa and the prospect of living in a lower cost city for the same salary is extremely appealing, but I'm worried my boss is going to react horribly to me leaving (even if the signs are obvious that we're going under) and sour my relationship with him which at the moment is great. The thing is Summer tends to be the busy season for the company, and we hire a lot of temporary staff, while my position they don't tend to fill with temporary people and I don't think my boss likes the idea of me leaving for essentially a temporary position in the same company. Should I risk ruining my relationship with him by applying within the company or should I give that opening a pass?
