Feel dead after 1 day of bricklaying

After months of unemployment my family got me a job doing bricklaying, they only needed me for one day but ended up liking me so they want me back tomorrow. But after 1 day my back and arms feel destroyed, I said I would come back since I’ll take any job I can at this point but I don’t know how long I’m going to last. I’ve made a rule up for myself which is (no excuses! No complaining! just do what I have to do) i don’t think it’ll last though. Anyone working the same job and will it get better in time? How do I not feel so sore?! Any tips from labourers will be appreciated. Thanks
