Hey everyone,
I've been interviewing for this one particular job in the tech/non profit field since November 1st. I have my final interview scheduled next week and it's been almost a month and a half through this grueling process.
I went through ~ a 30 minute phone call, a one hour presentation of my past work, a hour coding challenge, a hour presentation of my code, four references checked with 30 minutes Zoom calls for each reference and then an informal conversation with a fellow coworker that I would be working with directly. (This person was in all of my previous interviews). I finally passed each stage with a long wait in-between and the hiring manager even mentioned that he loved my reference reviews and was looking forward to hearing about how my conversation went with the other coworker.
The problem is here: I had the informal conversation with the fellow coworker and she came ten minutes late. She seemed distracted in all my interviews but our conversation which went somewhat well seemed pleasant. She asked me to send her questions as she had to leave early during the conversation and so I followed up with three. She answered them all and then asked if I had any so I followed up with five more and responses to her responses.
She replied with a one-liner saying, "my time is spread thin, can you pick two questions"? I wasn't that upset when I got this e-mail but I was more confused. I thought we had a connection and how long can it take to answer five questions? I replied politely and she replied with a thank you and a documentary link to watch that would "better prepare me" for the job.
Eventually she got back to me and the responses to my two questions were very short and generic.
Has anyone had a similar experience when they were interviewing? Does anybody have any insights into her confusing behavior? i.e asking me to pick two questions which seems rather rude then sending me a documentary link.
Thanks!
