So I’m 25 right now working at a Home Depot making $15.25 an hour. Started working here 5 years ago thinking it’d just be a summer job and I got complacent. I’ve gone to college but I had a few family deaths that made it hard to finish, so I only received an associates in general studies.
I’m afraid that I don’t have any skills and it’s hard trying to find jobs that pay more. I was interested in IT / programming but I am not great with Math. I have debt so going back to school would be tough, not sure if I could afford it. So I guess I’m asking / wondering if skills working in retail for 5 years can somehow translate to another job that can offer me more than $15.25/hr. I live in a low cost of living state so I don’t need much... just more than 30k/yr to help myself out of debt.
