How to create a Promotion notification at LinkedIn

I have been recently promoted at work and now working on publishing this update on my LinkedIn profile. I have seen two types of updates on LinkedIn.

1. Congratulate XYZ for being promoted to <new role> at ABC
2. Congratulate XYZ for starting a new position as <new role> at ABC

I googled and seems like there are conflicting ways states. I wish there was some type of preview option in LinkedIn that can tell us how a profile change will look like.

What do I need to do so my profile update publishes a promotion and not starting a new position?

PS I am aware of the checkbox that states something like "Would you like to update your network" to update your network about your profile changes.
