QA Position Prompt - Games Industry

Hello,

In the midst of an interview process for a QA position at a game studio and have been tasked with writing a response to a prompt that's a bit confusing to me.

The prompt is asking me to explain an understanding of a change (a new character or boss being added to a game), and to write a test plan against that change.

The word that throws me off is the word against. My initial thought process is telling me to list out an example (make a character), create test ideas related to software/game testing (functional testing, ad hoc testing, combinatorial testing, etc) and then list reasonings against adding that character in the game based off results from the test ideas. But maybe I should just list test ideas without explaining reasonings against the new character, as that's more fitting to what I would do in role? To try and break the game with opposing ideas of how the game should behave?

I have no prior QA or testing experience. The deductions I've made so far on how to approach the prompt have been from what I've learned online.

Doing everything I can to take advantage of this opportunity and attempt to move forward in my goal industry, thanks for any thoughts or feedback.
